Meet Gemini: Your New Google AI Superpower

Artificial Intelligence is dominating every aspect of digital lives. For the last two years, ChatGPT has been in the limelight for its ability to write communicative texts, compose poems, and understand complex queries. Now this front seat is likely to be snatched by Gemini, Google’s latest marvel.

Gemini is a family of Large Language  Models (LLM ) built for understanding and solving different levels of information. It is multimodal, for its ability to handle text, images, code, audio, and video. Gemini Chatbot, previously called Bard, has a ChatGPT-like interface. Users can write any query and this chatbot will answer it using its Gemini models. It understands questions and responds with updated information based on the latest data available online.

Spectrum of Gemini Versions for Maximum Impact

There are four versions of Gemini, Ultra, Pro, Nano, and Flash. Gemini Ultra is the largest model which is optimized to perform highly complex tasks like code generation and analytical reasoning. This version is ideal for scientists and researchers. It can handle intricate data and generate complex texts with ease. Gemini Pro is a versatile version that can handle different types of tasks and is ideal for various applications. Nano Version is optimized for processing information on smart devices.  Whereas, Gemini Flash is the latest lightweight model, built for high volume, cost-effective applications where speed and high efficiency is required.
Different types of work have different requirements. One can’t use chatbots for video editing. For video clipping and editing, a special list of tools is required. However, for complex text queries, it’s best to use AI chatbots like Gemini and ChatGPT.

Google announced the Gemini Pro 1.5 model in May 2024. It is introduced as a mid-sized multimode model which is as powerful as its Ultra version. It is ideal for developers who want to enhance existing apps and create new ones for everyday use.

Geminis’s Integration with Existing Google Apps

Yes, Google plans to integrate Gemini’s capabilities into its existing Apps, like Google Photos, Google Lens, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Gmail!

These Google Apps will be taken over by Gemini AI to unify user experience and enhance accessibility. For example, you will be able to add references in your email. Google is planning to introduce a new feature called “ Ask Photos”, which will help users to find all photos with complex instructions like “Show me pictures of me cooking through all years”.

Similarly, a new feature will be introduced in the Google Lens App, which will allow users to find information using videos. Currently, users can search for stuff only through text and photos. Adding a video feature will enhance its search capabilities.

Google’s search is also affected by AI. Now in search results, Google gives users a summary of typed queries.  This new feature “AI Overviews” is not welcomed by many users.  This feature offers a summary but also pushes searched links down on the page, which makes it annoying for users. Google plans to start pushing ads in this summary as well, which will make this feature more disliked by users.

Long story short, AI is here to stay with us for a long time till new technology comes to take its place. It’s best in our interest to equip ourselves with all these AI advancements if we don’t want to fall behind. AI evolution is happening fast. Currently, Gemini stands as a frontrunner among all AI chatbots, showcasing the most powerful capabilities. Like any new development, Gemini is not error-free and is still under refinement, but its potential is exciting.  In our opinion, its answering capability and language expressions are far more advanced than ChatGPT.  Major companies like Microsoft and Apple are also cooking their Artificial intelligence named CoPilot and Apple Intelligence.  Tell us, have you experimented with existing chatbots and what advanced features would you like to see in the future?
